I believe in an easygoing game, but I do have certain things that I wish to be done in order for everything to run as smoothly as possible. These rules include, but are not limited to:
-
Although Sunnydale Class Trip has a participant age of at least 16, it has a language rating of PG. I have no love for unnecessary profanity and do not wish to have it litter the game. (I don't even use the "D" word, though it can be heard on television now. Tsk tsk.) Some violence will be present, of course. Sensuality will be limited to what was seen early in the series (next to nothing).
-
You are allowed to play one primary character in the game, be it one of the Scooby Gang, a known Sunnydale High student or a character that you have made up. See the Characters section for details.
-
Sunnydale Class Trip is a freeform game that requires cooperation among all of the players. There will be no killing of or harm to other active characters without the permission of the player and myself. Harm done to active characters will be plot devices that can be overcome, such as Tara's temporary loss of sanity in the fifth season. Players should not control the actions of another player's character.
-
Players should be able to post at least twice a week. If you cannot handle this, please do not join the game. There are many other roleplaying games out there for you. If you know that you will be away from the game, please post a message saying so or notify me through email. I understand that things happen. We get sick, have family and friends to be with, work, school, etc. If a player has not posted for a significant period and I have not been informed of the absence, I will contact the player. If it is determined that the character will not be returning, I will do with it what I feel is best. Canon characters will be replaced. Made-ups not vital to the story may be either replaced or made demon fodder. This is only if I am absolutely certain that the player is not returning. I can keep a character on hold if necessary. Please just let me know.
-
Please do not post one or two line responses. I would like to see entries that have required some thought. What is the character thinking? Why are they doing what they are doing? Do they have a secret motive? Does something from their past prevent them from taking a course of action? There is so much more that can be done with a message than a simple "Xander looks around to see if there are any vampires coming." Please check your grammar and spelling whenever possible. I'm not the greatest writer in the world, so I don't expect John Grisham in return.
-
Precede your message with OOC if you are speaking out of character. Tags are optional, but useful if the target of the post is unclear.
-
If absolutely necessary, I will ban disruptive people from the message list.
-
Most of the characters in this game are inexperienced in the situations that they will encounter. Powers and abilities will be limited, with obvious exceptions and those listed in the Characters section.
-
Please enjoy the game.
